Mmmm. Well, lets see. Last time I was discussing the fires that were raging through SE Victoria. Weren't they fun. I spent 4 weeks in different locations on ht efireline, both in National Park and State forest, helping to get them contained. When they get that big (I think the finished total ended up being around the 1.5 million hectare mark, all you can realistically do is hope for rain).
So what's the outcome. Salvage logging is going ahead, which should produce between 3 to 5 years worth of the States sawlog supply in the space of a year and a half. Great, but there are wider implications across the state.
More of the m later, and I might fill you all in on some of the exciting moments of the fires, too.
